DARA’s first 20 months have been an incredibly busy and rewarding time. As a new nonprofit organization, we’ve learned so much along the way and have come farther than we first imagined since our start in October of 2015. We’re thankful for the support of so many — both local and from around the world — who have helped DARA grow and become stronger in our commitment to help refugees.

We plan to update more regularly now with blogging, and you can also follow DARA on social media — and subscribe to our newsletter — via the links on our site.

DARA'S STATEMENT ON COVID-19

The health and safety of DARA's volunteers, clients, and community is our highest priority. DARA follows CDC guidelines regarding pandemic protocols and requires all volunteers who interact with our refugee family clients to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Any volunteer who feels ill for any reason should immediately notify their team leader and avoid in-person volunteer duties until cleared to return.

DARA is committed to providing an environment that is safe, friendly, nondiscriminatory, and inclusive.

DARA welcomes and values everyone regardless of race, color, culture, religion, ability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or economic resources.
